Why I'm running for Treasurer

Charlottesville is my home. As a Charlottesville native now serving in our local government, I’m familiar with the needs and rhythms of the City and its people who, with me, call Charlottesville home.
In 2008 when I had the opportunity to return to the community in which I was raised, I jumped at the chance. As greater responsibility in public service has presented itself, I hope to use my perspective and experience for the betterment of our community by focusing whole-heartedly on this profession that I love.
I believe that my financial experience in both the private and public sector has uniquely positioned me to enhance the operations of the office of City Treasurer and to expand the rich legacy of service the office has always provided our citizens. I look forward to continuing to serve as your Treasurer.
–Jason Vandever
